Why I’m Running For Re-Election
Why I’m Running For Re-Election
Carson City’s schools provide strong academic support for students and programs to enrich their experiences. Our schools are filled with hardworking professionals who put the needs of our students first. I am proud of my work as a school trustee in our district, and it has been an honor to represent Carson City. I know firsthand the best practices for educating students and the realities of our classrooms. Additionally, my experience as a member of the state board of education, representing all school boards in the state, has given me a deep understanding of educational law and policies that govern our schools.
This role has also allowed me to advocate for our students, teachers, parents, and schools. My focus has always been to provide our students with the tools and environment to be college, career, and life-ready when they leave our schools. As the past president and current board member of Food for Thought, we provide meals, clothing items, and other supports to our students that allow them to attend school each day ready to learn. As a school trustee, I have worked hard to ensure we maintain high-achieving schools in this community that are responsive to the interests and needs of students in a fiscally responsible way. It would be a privilege to continue my work as a school trustee.
